Red Hematite is a rare type of Hematite in a rust red to brown colour. This specimen is a natural Quartz cluster that has been permeated by Red Hematite, causing the crystal to morph together in one special mineral. 

Not be to confused with Hematite Quartz, or Fire Quartz; when there are inclusions present inside the Clear Quartz. This specimen has rather, been coated with Hematite externally; a phenomenon called crystal twinning. 

Red Hematite occurs in sedimentary rocks that have weathered and gain thier lovely colour from oxidised iron. When the iron ions are joined with hydroxide ions, the colour intensifies.
