Ruby is one of the rarest and most valuable gemstones found on Earth. Known as the 'King of the Gems', it is prized for its deep, juicy red colour. 

 

Corundum is the mineral that forms Rubies, the presence of chromium gives them thier red colour. However, some Rubies contain ferric iron, this gives them a fuschia Pink colour. Technically, Rubies can only be red and the lack of chromium actually classifies them as Pink Sapphire.
